Trip Captain Training

The Vision

Everything about MAN CAMP is intentional, including your role as a Trip Captain. You get an opportunity to serve your unit and help create space for God to work in men’s lives. It's an important role. That's why we developed this training. Our goal is to encourage and equip you to lead well before, during, and after MAN CAMP.

Leading Before MAN CAMP

Before Man Camp

Leadership begins long before you arrive at Base Camp. Recruiting, connecting, and organizing your guys will turn a list of names into a prepared and unified brotherhood.

Recruit Your Unit

Someone in your life may be waiting for an invitation to MAN CAMP. Move past hesitation, take a risk, and personally invite men to join the adventure.

Organize Your Unit

A little preparation can eliminate confusion and help your unit arrive ready for the weekend. Plan your unit meeting, coordinate gear and food, and make sure every man has what he needs.

From names to brotherhood

A group assignment doesn’t automatically create a brotherhood. It takes intentional leadership. Discover simple ways to connect your guys, put them at ease, and help guys feel known and included before setting foot on Base Camp.

Leading DURING MAN CAMP

Once MAN CAMP begins, your presence and example matter. Learn how to love your unit, point men toward God, and prepare the ground for Him to work throughout the weekend.

Love Your Unit

Loving your unit means noticing, encouraging, challenging, and showing up for the men entrusted to you. This video explores how everyday moments at MAN CAMP can become meaningful opportunities to serve your guys well.

Lead by Example + The MASH TEnt

Your unit will take its cues from how you engage with the MAN CAMP experience. Lead from the front by engaging in and inviting men toward worship, prayer, and the MASH Tent. All of those things can help them take meaningful steps toward God.

Leading Fire Time

Fire time can become one of the most powerful parts of the weekend when it is led with honesty and care. Learn practical guidance for creating space where every man can speak, listen, laugh, and process what God is doing.

Challenge Coins

Your words have the power to call out courage, growth, and God-given potential in another man. Learn how to pay attention throughout the weekend and prepare a sincere, specific affirmation for each member of your unit.

SRFP

Men arrive at MAN CAMP from many different places in their spiritual journeys. This video introduces a simple framework for understanding where each man may be, and helping him identify his next step toward God.

Leading AFTER MAN CAMP

The weekend may end, but your influence as a Trip Captain doesn’t have to. Learn how to follow up, connect men with lasting community, and call out future leaders so that what began at MAN CAMP continues to grow.
